Hi

I've just posted a small preview filclip of the 11/12 April 2001 auroral storm on
http://www.angelfire.com/movies/timelap ... gment.html

It is just a tiny fragment of the material I am processing at the moment.
I think it is worth viewing since it shows how colors and intensities can
change rapidly during a middle latitude display.
The person you see in some frames is me, taking pics and changing rolls of film
in the 35 mm filmcamera that was 10 meters away from the Bolex 16 mm filmcamera that
made this shot.

The clip is a gif animation that should play automatically on all systems and browsers.
Filesize 1MB; downloding should take about five to eight minutes on an average telephone modem.
During downloading the image will only be frame by frame. After the clip has been downloaded,
projection should be smooth.

Hi Jan!

Well, this looks very good - I´m looking forward for your final clip (DivX, I guess). How long will the final clip be?

cu, Sven

BTW: You still didn´t order APAVA from one of our Copy Centers. Already got it from others sources? Because you have a good animation on this two CDs I thought you would like to see the whole cds...

Hi Sven

Thanks for checking !!.

The end result will probably be 8 minutes or so. Different view points and the like. The idea is to make it into a cinema short film.
The small GIF is a tiny fragment from the original 16 mm material that was shot for six hours.
It was the first shot on this camera, rather a test shot that worked out fine. That is also why the composition is not splendid. But the 35 mm footage is great, that will be worked out during summer.

Ordering a APPAVA copy is indeed something I still have to do, but not prime at the moment. In fact I'd like three copies or more to hand them out to friends that helped me during cold nights. Post your address and I'll send you a euro bill. But I won't send it before I've send to Martin the money that I own him for the mysterious and powerful Purus. First things first.

Greetings, JanL
