Guten Morgen. late nite thoughts

Beitrag von jan lameer » 20. Apr 2002, 05:28

Just late nite thoughts...

eh, I think the AKM should get their heads together and find an answer to Canopus. I mean with so much potential (Mark, Ulrich, Sven and all the others who's name I don't remember now), it should be possible to make a good algorithm that at least resembles Canopus for Germany.
Starting with data from Norway?
But for the time being I think that AKM is the best local observer network on earth now. It is so nice to hear from other observers that went out into foggy conditions. After an hour or more it chills you to the bone. When you cannot sit on the floor of the forest, cold creeps in. I'm still wondering if we will get some aurora to-nite again. Probably not, season is over ?

Greetings, JanL

Hej Jan,

The season could be over, but I believe there are substantial sunspots on the other side of the sun. Let us wait and see what happens.
And of course the sunspots are now closer and closer to the suns equator which is better for an earth directed CME. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Such a terrible shame that with the fantastic weather condition of the past weeks (1-3 weeks ago) we didn't have any geomagnetic storms.

I still have hope that we'll see a good display though...

Groetjes,

Jorge

P.S. Geweldige foto's op je site, die ik nu gedurende langere tijd bekijk als er eenhele tijd niks te zien valt! Zeker die "filmpjes" zijn geweldig!
