conflicting measurements

Beitrag von jan lameer » 19. Jul 2002, 18:01

Hi
I am a little confused. IPS gives a solar wind velocity near 800 km/s and Costello predicts K>5 while ACE has almost no measurements and the site of Spaceweather.com gives a velocity <500 km/s.
Meanwhile ACE shows density in "red" conditions.
(18 UT)
Is a storm condition developing or not???

hm, ACE measures 0.2 particles / cc, that might cause it *o.

HiJan,
spaceweather is a coule of hours behind- its data is from 1435UT!
So it is better to keep an eye on SWEPAM:

Hi Stefan!
Thanks, I hadn't noticed that. This indeed is almost rule #1 in judging Internet data: check the clock.
Thanks.
(By the way, Amsterdam weather forecast is that the skies should start clearing, I hope we get a show...?)
