Our HAFv.2 model prediction estimates are indicated as follows:
EARTH: Western flank of shock will arrive 0600 UT, 8 September
2005; SSI = -0.17; delta(momentum flux)=1.0 nPa.
MERCURY: Eastern flank of shock will arrive ~1000 UT, 6 September 2005.
VENUS: Western flank of shock will arrive ~1000 UT, 6 September 2005
MARS: Western flank of shock will arrive ~1000 UT, 9 September 2005.
The
eastern flank will be weakened by interaction with several CIRs.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: You guessed it. AR0798 is still active, this
time with
a C2.7, LDE, soft X-ray classification, thanks to the hot flare loops
rising
above the occulting E-limb disk. GOES-12/XRA detected the 1-8A
enhancement at
0853-1041-1220 UT. There was no metric Type II report, but San Vito
observed a Type IV radio burst from 0938 until 1012 UT within their
bandpass of 25-180 MHz; thus, it is possible that the latter obscured
the
former burst. Bill Murtagh, NOAA/SEC forecaster, made a preliminary
estimate
of a partial halo CME with very high speeds in the plane-of-sky,
averaging
about 2000 km/sec at PA = 148-149 degrees. We will, therefore,
assume, as
for #632 through #635, that the site of the responsible flare is our
old friend, AR0798 (that has rotated since its last performance to
E105), and is due for
reappearance on 07 September at the East limb. We will further assume
that
the shock speed above this flare site is Vs = 2500 km/sec with a
piston driving
time, tau = 6 hr. ACE/SWEPAM continues to measure a background solar
wind speed,
Vsw ~ 500 km/sec.
