Optical phenomena in the Czech Republic

Dear observers,

Best New Year's greetings from Prague!

I like the photographs on AKM pages and here in the forum. I am maintaining a website dedicated to atmospheric optics that is hosted on the server of the Czech Astronomical Society.

You might be interested in observations and photographs of optical phenomena from the Czech Republic - sometimes we can see halos or other phenomena 1 or 2 days later than in Germany due to prevailing west winds.

Dear Thorsten and Dennis,

I am glad that you like the photos. To see more images that are being sent by many observers, you can also visit large archives from the year 2005 and 2004 or the latest submitted images.

There are many photographs of halo phenomena. For more than 1 year, there is working a group of halo observers in the Czech Republic called HOP with about 10 active observers (core members are Patrik Trncak, Roman Manak, Martin Popek, Jan Kondziolka, me - to name just a few).
