Hello to all,
My brother and I spent a night up on the hill camping and I brought my camera and I started shooting pics as the sky got darker. First halo to appear were moondogs that would come and go and there was also so sharp 22d halo. Later on a fine circumzenith arc appeared and to the naked eye it was a faint gray arc but a 10 sec exposure rendered it colorful. The best part came when the moondogs were nearly as bright as the moon its self and a nice sharp upper tangent arc w/ parry arc appeared!! I got numerous pics showing the sharp tangent arc, parry arc, moondogs, weak 22d halo and parhelic circle. In one photo there appears to be a large segment of the circular lowitz but not sure I need to download but can't download from the camera because my battery is charging as this is being written. Being that this is a nice display I think a pic for pic of the month or use on the AKM site would be a good idea.
Best,
Michael
