hi,
This AKM forum seems to be using phpBB, does the SMF have a same problems on color presentation for scaled images...?
I also prefer sRGB profile, for the images to presented on the web. I do image adjusting on Adobe RGB color space - then finally assing the profile based on usage of "final" image.
Another that affects to how one sees colors, is also monitor. Especially the case, when monitor is not calibrated. I had possibility to calibrate one of my earliest monitor(s) with SpyderPro. It has measument unit, which is placed in front of monitor. On my older monitor, I had difficulties with calibration, especially in the grey gradient(s). There used to be color banding visible. With my new monitor (Eizo - built in calibration tool), that is not problem anymore.
So there is many factor(s) in presenting the colors
