The coronal mass ejection from the class M8.7 major solar x-ray flare of 26
July is beginning to approach the Earth. Data at the present time suggests
the disturbance may be a few to perhaps as much as 12 hours away from
impacting the Earth. Predicted impact time is near 15:30 UTC, give or take
several hours. The Space Environment Center predicted an impact late on the
28th (UTC time - already passed) or early on the 29th (anytime now). This is
not expected to be a significant disturbance, but it may provide periods of
sufficiently enhanced activity to observe from some dark-sky middle latitude
sites.

Hallo zusammen,

ich kann mir einfach nicht vorstellen, dass uns das Ganze viel bringt. Aber vielleicht bringt es das Erdmagnetfeld schon mal "ein bisschen durcheinander", bevor es (heute nachmittag?) zum Megagau auf der Sonne kommt...

Hab übrigens gerade die Info bekommen, dass es Murphy zu heiß wird bei uns. Das muss doch was werden, oder?
