POTENTIAL MAJOR SOLAR FLARE WARNING

ISSUED: 15:35 UTC, 18 MAY 2002

SYNOPSIS:

Active sunspot complex 9957 has rotated sufficiently into view now to
confirm the existence of at least one strong delta magnetic configuration.
The group also appears to have fairly strong gradients along the delta
neutral line. The spot complex has been fairly quiet with respect to its rate
of flaring. However, the potential certainly appears to exist for an isolated
major M and/or X class solar flare from Region 9957 as it transits the solar
disk.

Another area of potential concern is the new region just rotating into
view around the northeast limb. This spot complex has been correlated with at
least one M-class event over the last 48 hours and has shown some interesting
dynamics in EIT imagery as it rotated into view. It may also be capable of a
major M-class event - pure speculation at the moment given the spot groups
proximity to the east limb. A better estimate of flare potential will be
possible in several days when the spot group rotates into a better position
for analysis.

der Wetterfrosch bekommt ein paar von Deinen schoenen Grafiken und im Gegenzug bekommen wir schoenes Wetter. Mit 9957 muessten wir uns halt noch was einfallen lassen. Irgen jemand hatte doch mal'ne Schiebeaktion gestartet .......

Es muss was werden mit dem Megaflare aus 9957, denn das Wetter wird ab Wochenmitte "sauschlecht" (sorry), laut Murphy kann dann nur was passieren *ggg*

Gab es da nicht ein Verfahren bei dem Regenwolken mit Raketen beschossen werden? Die Geschosse enthalten irgendeine chemische Substanz welche ein Abregnen oder Zerstreuen der Wolken bewirken soll.

Vielleicht sollten wir zusammenlegen...
