red glow from, Amsterdam Netherlands

I went on my bicycle (not the big one) to a rural area north of Amsterdam. There was a lot of fog but between 01 UT and 02 UT there was pretty good visibility, although the horizon area was always fogged out entirely.
Between 01 and 01:20 I noticed a red glow up to 35 degrees in the north.
Since I left all my tripods on Terschelling, even my emergency plastic one, I had to strap my camera to a wooden bridge, hangeing over the water. This was scary, but I managed two pics on 16/3,5 with 800 ISO and 8 minutes exposure time. Reflection in the water, a lot off fog and hopefully red glow.
