Herrlich!
Viele Grüße

Eva,
I just viewed the new halo pics you got from the big halo complex and I noticed that the parry arc is very sharp and colorful and reminds me of the super halo complex I observed and photographed on October 14 2002. When you see bright circumscribed halos like that, look near the horizon because sometimes you may see the infralateral arcs on either side. They may be faint or brightly colored but I have never seen them bright just faint enough to see.
I hope this fall and winter to observe and photograph some of those big displays.
BTW: The images unlike mine are very sharp and well defined but I hope to fix that when I get a new camera that will have interchangable lenses and other good features. I think I may get a Nikon digital camera .
All of the best,
Michael

Hello Michael,
yes, that was a wonderful display. I have never observed such a well defined Parry arc before. I looked for the infralateral arc, but there was nothing (as usual). Supralateral arcs are more common here.
If you are thinking about a new digital camera, consider also other brands. It's a question of price. I like the Fuji S2 Pro, but it tends to collect dust and I am using the Canon Powershot G2 more often, because it is less bulky. I did not have it with me though when the halos arrived, so I hurried home at lunchtime to get it (and had a Parry arc for lunch but not much else).
