Claudia

Re: Schon wieder Regenbögen
Hallo Claudia,
schöne Aufnahmen;

the rainbow is Twinned
Hi,
If I'm not mistaken, on the last photo of that rainbow it is a twinned rainbow.
Am I right or right? ;-)

That is a twin
Claudia,
Michiel is right there is without a doubt a double arc visible at the crown of the bow. My favorite pic is the one at the top and it reminds me of some of the nice bows I have imaged with my Nikon D-100 that I upgraded to last year and I have to say it is a great digicam. Right now nothing optically colorful has been visible but yet I have seen my fair share of rainbows this year and the last was mid July and it was a nice smooth red rainbow.
Best,
Michael

wirklich schöne Bilder
Hallo Claudia & Wolfgang,
wirklich beeindruckende Bilder!

Yes
Hello Michiel and Michael,
you've right, the twinned or split rainbow was to seen a short time. But I hope that the paper pictures of it (with pole filter) are better.
The second bow probably results from very large rain drops, which are distorted with free case and thus have a smaller angle of refraction.
This results in both my evaluation of all me available observations and a simulation of Les Cowly.

Hallo Gerald,
